The Treasurer’s Report was read by Ruth Tomlin.
Expenses since the last meeting totaled $3,046.45 and receipts totaled
$1,304.69. The report was accepted as read.

Old Business:
-
Insurance: will remain the same as the previous
year.

Grass Cutting – Neil Oke will be asked to
continue to cut the grass at the Park and the Community Centre.

Pike Bay Community Park – Larry and Ruth Tomlin
will look after the park again this summer. A few of the picnic tables
need repairs. An allowance of $300 was approved for these repairs and
Jack Seatter and Rick Nolk will undertake the work. The volleyball net
needs to be replaced. Glen Cameron will check to see if he can get
drilling done to erect poles for the net and a new net will be
purchased. An allowance of $400 was approved for the sports equipment.

Community Centre – Clean up is scheduled for
Thursday, May 24th
at 9:00 am. A new pump and UV system have been installed at a cost
of $1,004.00. Helen Stewart moved that this amount be approved for
payment, seconded by Terry Mears, approved by all. Moe Ready has
compiled and distributed the list of those responsible for Monday night
euchres and for the lunches. Euchre will start on June
4th. Ruth Tomlin made a motion to spend $100 on
new oilcloth for the tables. Seconded by Glen Cameron and
approved. Painting of the Community Centre will be postponed again as
the quote received in the fall was too expensive.

New Business:
-
Fireworks: will be held on Saturday, June
30th with a rain date of Sunday, July
1st. Jack Seatter agreed to oversee the event.
Fireworks in the amount of $700 will be ordered from By the Bay. Greg
Foster will be asked, once again, to light the fireworks.

Bake Sale: To be held Saturday, August
4th at Donna and Neil Oke’s place starting at 8:00
am. Phyllis Bain will co-ordinate.

Pig Roast: to be held Saturday, August
18th at
By the Bay. Karen Sword will
purchase a digital camera for the draw (approx. $350) and Ken Meagher
will purchase a second prize valued at approximately $150. Helen
McIntyre will print the draw tickets and Ken Meagher will co-ordinate
the distribution and selling of the tickets. Cost of meal tickets
will remain the same ($10 for adults and $4.50 for children) and Greg
Foster will be asked to print the tickets. Drink tickets will remain at
$3.00 and soft drinks $1.00. Helen McIntyre will order the
Port-a-Potties. Tracey Marquis will be asked to arrange the
children’s games again this year. Moe Ready will check with Brenda
Clerks to see if her son can provide the DJ services for the
evening. Shirley Lehman offered to lend her drink cooler if the one
belonging to the PBCA cannot be located. Ruth Tomlin will arrange for
the PAL insurance which shouldn’t be more than $200. Jim and Moe
Ready will supervise the bar with assistance for other PBCA
members. Kathy Campbell and Karen Sword volunteered to organize the
food for the Pig Roast with assistance from Phyllis Bain. Wendall
Thomson will be asked to arrange to get the fencing from the Rotary Club
for a donation of $50.00 and Tom Field will be asked to provide firewood
in return for meal tickets.

Membership: 2007Membership fees are due. Ken
Meagher has agreed to continue as the Membership Chairman so please send
your membership fee ($10.00) to him at RR#1, Mar, Ontario, N0H 1X0. You
will find a form at the end of these minutes.

Paul Annett asked the PBCA to take over the
care and cost of the Pike Bay Highway Signs. The approximate cost per
year (paid to the Government and property owners) is $500 and Paul and
Brad Hazzard have been paying this. After some discussion, it was agreed
that Paul and Brad would look after the signs for this year and the PBCA
will take over the payment and upkeep of the signs starting in 2008.

Chantry Fishing Derby: Jack Seatter asked the
Association to sponsor the Derby again this year and moved for a $50.00
donation. This was seconded by Kathy Campbell and approved.
-
Elections – the Slate of Officers will remain
the same for the coming year.
