Minutes of Meeting

Meeting was held on May 16,2010 at the Community Centre


Rick opened the meeting and welcomed 3 new members.


Elections were brought up again, still no new president


Secretary's report: no changes to last minutes.


Treasurer's report was presented by Marg Meagher. Current bank Balance $3,755.18. Expenses from Sept. 9 to May 16 were $4,136.99 and income was $711.00. Moved that the report be accepted as read, seconded and approved.


Ken reported that we have 3 new members.


Community Centre report. Grass cutting. Donna motioned a fee of $1200.00, seconded by Ken and approved. A motion was made by Helen to have the Centre sprayed for spiders again with $200.00 allocated for this, seconded by Ken, approved. Euchre starts in June. Year round usage of the Centre was brought up again but was shot down after considering water issues, heating, and snow removal.


Insurance: Coverages will remain unchanged.


Pike Bay Community Park : The ladies will pick a day for the clean-up. Three picnic tables have been repaired. Mentioned that bolts must be used as nails won't hold.


Fireworks: Last years profit was $7.00, Special thanks to Jack and Jackie Seatter on a job well done.

Bake Sale: was also a success, Thanks to all who contribute.

Pig Roast


New Business

Fireworks Will be held July 3 2010 with a rain date of July 4. Jack motioned $700.00 for this years, seconded and approved.Helen Stewart will look after the donation jars. Peter Garland will be asked to light them again.

Bake Sale at Oke's garage on July 31, 8:00 AM. Margaret Howes and Helen McIntyre will oversee the event.

Pig Roast: August 14, 2010 Permission will be asked for the use of the By the Bay Store. Admission will remain the same ($13.00/ adult & $6.50/child 10 and under) Drink Tickets will remain at $3.00.Bar tending by Rick, Mo etc. Helen McIntyre will order Port-a-Potties, Terry Barnard will be asked about donating prizes. Karen Sword to purchase the first prize with an allotted $300.00. Karen motioned for the PAL insurance @$150.00 seconded by Donna Oke. A motion was made for $500.00 for music was seconded and approved. Kathy Campbell and Karen Sword to look after the food.

Membership: Anyone who has not paid thier membership dues can do so by sending in the form at the end of these minutes to:

Chantry Fishing Derby – Jack Seatter motioned that $50.00 be donated to the derby this year, seconded by Ken, approved.
